Legal fee and discount Policies

Legal fee is an amount of fee that a Lawyer/ Licensed Paralegals/ RCIC charges for the time they spend working on your file. In order to help client minimizing the legal fee and being easier in  approaching the legal services, at Immgiration Experts, we have various way to calculate legal fee as below:

• Hourly rate: Based on how many hours that our licensee would work on your file (such as deliever advice, legal research, sending correspondence with opposite party, filing the application to the court, represent at trial or settlement conference...), the licensee will keep track of all the time they spend working on your file, and will bill you accordingly. This method of billing enables you making a payment for each 6 minutes of time. Depending the complication of each different case, we are not able to give the estimation of cost that we shall work on your matter.  We appreciate your understanding if you find the process is extended longer out of our expectation. We undertake that each licensee who is retained will work with high responsibility, professional conduct, good ethic, and in a timely manner in order to avoid your legal cost runs up unreasonably.
• Flat fee (blocked fee) is applied for a specific matter or a full package of service, not depended on how many hours the licensee spends on your file. We only apply this kind of fee on particular matters and not applied for the litigation representative services at court (except the representative services at Landlord and Tenant Board in Ottawa, Canada). Please contact us to have further detail.
• Combination fee are the mixed method between the hourly rate and flat fee, in order to minimize the cost for client who has a long process at court. We only apply this fee for an extremely complicated matter that requires much time in legal reseach or for a long trial.
• We don't offer contingency fee in any circumstance.

Disbursement are expenses such as photocopy charges, court filing fees, costs of medical reports, and the expense of hiring expert witnesses that not counted and invoiced separately to legal fee. You can choose to pay those expenses by yourself or authorize Immigration Experts making a payment on your behalf. Please note that the disbursement doesn't create any benefit to us or our licensee. 

Other expenses is an expense paid for an additional option provided by Immigration Experts' associates, including of:

• Notarization Service (in Vietnam and Canada)
• Comissioning of Oath (in Ottawa only)
• Documental translation (in Vietnam and Canada)

WE OFFER DISCOUNT POLICIES

1. Canada Pro-Bono for low-income person

• Free 30 mins of consultation for LTB on-going matter;
• Free 30 mins of consultation to fill out the Small Claims form of on-going matter for self-presented party;
• Free 1st commissioning of Affidavit for IWSO' clients.

2. Discount for Vietnamese client in Ottawa

• 5% discount on Paralegal fee if retained for any legal matter in scope of Paralegal's practice.
• Free 30 mins of Immigration consultation if our Lawyer or RCIC is retained.
• 5% disocunt of Notarization service from 10 copies up.

3. Discount for Family member, Relatives & Friends of Immigration Experts' staffs: 10% on legal fee (not applies on cost & disbursement)

4. Discount for Client of IWSO: ProBono + Free 30 mins of Immigration initial interview (you will need to be referred in writing from IWSO)

5. Discount for Canadian Military Spouse:

• Free 30 mins of initial interview if retained;
• $50 deduction on second retainer.
